Writers Are…

When I was younger I loved to write. I so enjoyed making new worlds and planing great adventures for my characters. But somewhere along the way I lost my passion for writing. I started to question my skill and my creativity. I still do.

Writing isn’t scary though. And it isn’t all about getting published or having the public love my work. It is about expressing myself, and damn what others think. So I may never see my name on the cover of a book! So what? At least I am allowing myself to be creative and free. And that is more important then a hundred bestsellers written to please others.

Writers are…

Writers are free.

Writers are intelligent.

Writers work hard. Writers enjoy their work.

Writers are creative.

Writers are a breed apart.

Writers are commercial. Writers are writing out of love.

Writers are obsessed with getting published. Writers are obsessed with writing.

Writers are loners. Writers have good friends.

Writers are poor. Writers are spiritually rich.

Writers are pretentious. Writers are joyful.

I may sound sappy, but I don’t care. As a writer I want to be free and joyful, not not commercial and pretentious.
