Almost Time for Tea

Oi! I’ve got to admit that plain needlepoint/petit point is not for me. The endless, endless backgrounds just bore me to tears.

Tea Time, designed by Kathrin Ellison

This is as far as I have gotten on Tea Time since I last shared it in April. It sits near my computer, and I work on it once in a while, but my heart isn’t in it at all. Still, the end is in sight. Maybe I’ll have it done in another six months!

I have to speak up for needlepoint here – just a little bit anyway – surely it’s the design that’s to blame, not the technique? I make up my own designs – and that certainly solves the boring background problem. Or perhaps I’m just odd – could be.

I agree, I cannot bear stitching background, that’s why coloured fabric was invented!

One reason why I will probably never stitch a HAED. This will look lovely when it’s all finished.
