Well, 2012 is winding down, and if you believe the Mayans, so is the whole world. (Yeah, I know their calendar isn’t really ending. The ROM had a whole exhibit about it, HuffPo has an article, NASA did a thing, etc..) And so, this is the last WIPocalypse entry for this year.
Christmas Rose Humbug by Faby Reilly
My final finish is Faby Reilly’s Christmas Rose Humbug. (Note that this is the older design available from her website, not the one that was in the last issue of Cross Stitch Crazy.)

I think it is so elegant, and I hate to admit that I really don’t want to give it away. But, I think it will make a nice Christmas gift for the little man’s teacher.
It uses DMC floss and a few Mill Hill beads, as well as some DMC metallic thread. And don’t get me started on that metallic thread. I think when I started this the plan was to just use up what I had. (Now I know I can use it for dragon boats!) All I can say is “ugh!” Actually, I could say a lot more, but it wouldn’t be very polite and certainly not very Christmas-y.
Since this is the last WIPocalypse post, I’m also sharing all the WIPs I finished this year. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish up as many as I would have liked. I keep getting sidetracked by all the wonderful new designs out there! There is always something new and wonderful to catch my eye!

I’d say you did quite well with finishes this year. All of them beautiful! I love Faby’s designs and you did a great job on the humbug. You can have all of my metallic floss too … very unpleasant to work with even though I love a sparkly finish.

I love the ornament and can see why you would want to keep it. You finished a lot of your WIP”s before the end of the world 🙂 LOL. I know I’ll still have to work both Saturday and Sunday! Still it is kinda weird but we might finally get some snow.
