Finishing Stuff – Very Scary Bell Pull

More finishing from the beginning of the week! This is Very Scary by Lizzie*Kate, which I finished in October 2012. I don’t think I made too many changes to it, other than not stitching the weird cat, and replacing it with a tombstone button from JABC.

It is actually sewn straight, but the fabric just distorted so easily. I really don’t like to say bad things about products that I know are made with care, but I will never again intentional stitch something on this brand of fabric. I’ll only be stitching on fabrics from dyers who use Zweigart as their base.

This will be stored away until October, but since I was in the mood to sew and finish things (and avoid knitting my sock for Sock Madness) this week seemed like a good time to tackle it. 😉

Very cute finish. I really like the button. There is one fabric company I refuse to buy from even though I love their colors as I really dislike their base.

    Nice finish – well done!

This looks great. I remember a lot of people changed the weird cat to other things!
Could you attach some small weights like fishing weights to the bottom to try pull it a little straighter?

Great finish, but sorry to hear the fabric distorted. I still have this in my to do pile 🙂

Congratulations on your finish! I have started this design too. The bell pull is a nice idea instead of the usual framing. Thanks for the inspiration!

Came out great! I do like the button… though I did go ahead with the cat. LOL

I love the design and your finish!
Pitty that the fabric didn’t meet up to your standards!
Sometimes it helps putting some heavier backing to the piece (using non-woven interfacing in between).
Anyway … it’s ready for you to enjoy this Halloween!
    Kind greetings,
    Ann
