Running Out

I have mixed feelings about kits. On one hand, I love being able to get started without having to fuss around gathering supplies. On the other hand, I seem to run out of floss all the time. It must be the way I stitch

The other day I started Love, a kit that I picked up from Enchanting Lair ages ago. Laura is always very generous with her kits, so I have no idea why I ran out of the Needle Necessities Sweet Peas for the centre hearts. And, as you may know, Needle Necessities closed down years ago. Ugh.

Anyway, I’ll be ordering some Threadworx in Roxy, which is supposed to be the equivalent colourway. It will be interesting to see how close a match it actually is. I know I will need to make allowances for dye lot differences, but I still wonder how similar it will actually be. Hopefully I won’t need to rip out any of the stitching I’ve already done.

Do you have experience mixing Needle Necessities and Threadworx of equivalent colourways? If so, how did it go for you?

Pity. It is such a pretty colour.

Very pretty stitching! I just checked my few skeins of needle necessities and they are numbered not labeled by name. Then I looked up what you had ordered and Roxy looks like a great match compared to your photo here you posted. I don’t have the thread you need after all. Hope Roxy works for you.

Running our of threads…..that’s the proverbial “PITS” 🙂

I don’t think it is you, it’s a common thing. I ran out of DMC crewel wool in a kit (and they ignored my emails!), I’ve just run out of Anchor rug wool in a kit, and Tangled Threads has had problems with about 3 Dimensions kits…

Sorry to hear that. I only use to stitch kits for years. I only one time ran out of thread.

  6. Lovely design and pretty colours. Shame you ran out of thread… Fingers crossed the new one will be similar enough for you to keep stitching 🙂
Unfortunately I haven’t had any experience with either thread company
    Hugs x
