It’s been a rough weekend. I’m glad it’s over. Saturday was a so-so day at work. I had a couple of impolite customers. (When you are shopping, remember that the staff is only doing their job. They have no real say in store policies, pricing, etc.) Sunday at work was okay too. My wonderful neighbour picked me up, and told me that more then half his company has been laid off. Poor guy. 🙁 He still has a job, but for how long, he wonders. I try to cheer him up, and tell him that August is over, so nothing else bad can happen this month. Except, oh, the apartment building burning down. Well, I was woken up at 4 am by the fire alarm. I meet my neighbour on the fire stairs, and he says “You need to watch what you say.” Opps! Thankfully it was a false alarm, but my night of sleep was shot. I stay up, reading and playing computer games. Come afternoon I decided to clean house. No problem, I’m not to sleep deprived. Right! I dropped my deck chair on my foot and took a huge hunk of skin out of my toe. I’m not going to be able to wear shoes for a few days. Looks like I get some time off work after all. *sigh* So much for going to hunt down my favourite magazine this afternoon.
If I look on the bright side, since I’m pretty much tied to the house until the weekend, I should be able to get a lot of writing done. I’ve ran out of thread, so my sewing project has been put on hold. No worries though, there are always tons of things to do!
