Meme Saturday

Today is meme day at the Pond. I’ve just woken up and it is far to early for me to be original. 🙂

First, the Friday Five on Saturday.

1. What do you do for a living?
Right now I am a house-almost-wife. I cook, clean, write, studying, and keep things running smoothly.

2. What do you like most about your job?
I like being able to find spend time trying to figure out who I am and to look after myself. I also really enjoying cooking and cleaning, believe it or not.

3. What do you like least about your job?
Sometimes I can get a little lonely.

4. When you have a bad day at work it’s usually because _____…
I generally don’t have bad days. I suppose the bad days happen when the cat gets sick, or I’m just not in a happy mood.

5. What other career(s) are you interested in?
I went to school for computer programming, but that isn’t something I want to do as a career. I would like to write, but not as my career. I think I am best suited to administration. That may not sound very ambitious, but it is something I enjoy.

Now, for the meme quiz that has been floating around. I picked it up from Lani this morning.

Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
“that a stranger will soon come to call”
Llewellyn’s Witches’ Datebook 2004

Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Nothing, just air. The wall beside me is to far away for me to touch.

What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Last night we watched CSI before going to bed.

With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
I can hear quanta talking softly to the cat, and that annoying ticking pipe.

When did you last step outside?
Since I just got up, the last time I was outside was early yesterday evening about 7:30pm. We were coming back from the ROM.

Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
I got this from Lani, so I’m assuming it mean’s her site. Before that I was looking at my own site here, catching up on comments. Before that I was looking at my email.

What are you wearing?
A little blue nightie. I did just get out of bed. 😛

Did you dream last night?
I always dream, but I rarely remember more then a little bit. There was something in my dream about gloves. Likely I was dreaming something nasty that was influenced by the CSI episode I saw before I went to bed.

When did you last laugh?
Sometime late last night when quanta and I were talking. I don’t remember what I laughed about though.

What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Directly in front of me is a large picture I cross stitch, Mirabilia’s Garden Verses; to my right is my corkboard with my Susan Seddon
Boulet Goddess calendar, a picture of my grandmother and me when I was about six, a picture of my cat, a note about my goals for the week, a small blessings card from a shop in London, and a print-out of the Living Rede. To my left there is a inspirational picture entitled “Imagination”.

Seen anything weird lately?
Considering I was out and about in TO yesterday, not really. Oh, except for the people protesting in front of some building near the ROM. I think the protest was about Israeli, but I’m not sure.

What do you think of this quiz?
It is more of a questionnaire then a quiz, really.

What is the last movie you saw?
Good question, since I don’t watch movies all that often. I guess I would have to say half of The Ten Commandments, which I watched last Friday I think. I’m a sucker for movies with Ancient Egypt in them, except horror movies.

If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A large house for quanta and I, with a smaller in-law house for my parents.

Tell me something about you that I don’t know:
I would really like to have children soon.

If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
There would be no more rape, murder or abuse. I’ve given this some thought, believe or not.

Do you like to dance?
Not really. I have bad knees, so it has never been anything that I thought I could do. If I didn’t have bad knees, then maybe I would like it.

George Bush is he a power-crazy nut case or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?:
From a Canadian point of view, he is a nut. I just don’t understand why he can do the things he is doing, like seemingly making religion a government issue, or lying to the public. The American system of government is much different then our system though, which is probably why I don’t understand.

Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
quanta and I have discussed this a little bit. I would like to name her Emma Marjorie. quanta thinks the name is old fashioned. We might also give her a Chinese name, but we haven’t really discussed that.

Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
I haven’t really thought about it because I have always thought I would have a girl. Perhaps Colm Arthur.

Would you ever consider living abroad?
No, I like living in Canada, and especially in Toronto. There are many places I would like to visit though.
