Things are back to normal here at the Pond, for a few days at least. I saw my mom off safely last night, and spent today tidying up and doing laundry. Tomorrow I’m going to sleep in (yeah, right), and just put my feet up and read. The weather will be turning hot and sticky, so I am quite content to stay inside with a good book. (I don’t think I’ve mentioned that I hate summer. 😛 )
A few fashion tips based on my trips around TO this week:
1. Don’t wear white stockings with a black business suit and lovely black heels. It just looks really odd. Try nude or tan stockings, please.
2. Girls, no matter how thin and cute you think you are, no one wants to see your tong panties sticking out from the top of your low rise jeans. Ick! (Double ick if you aren’t pencil thin. And I’m not, so I can say that. 😛 )
3. Wearing a shirt tight enough that it shows off your love handles (i.e. fat) isn’t attractive. And it is even less attractive if you wear such a shirt with low rise jeans and your belly is sticking out for all the world to see. Cover up, please!
4. Pretty heels are nice, but be careful walking across roads with streetcar tracks. You might get stuck or break a heel. (Personal experience talking here.)
In other news, I finally had another job interview. It went quite well, considering I am still recovering from my cold (which has made sleeping difficult). Unfortunately, the pay is crap, considering I would need to be up at 5am most days. quanta is keen for me to get back to work (and save my sanity), but he isn’t keen on me getting up at 5am and going to bed at 9pm. I’m one of those people who can’t function without eight hours of sleep, hence the early bedtime. But, I will happily go to my second interview for the job on Tuesday and see what else they might be willing to offer me. You never know, right? And if worse comes to worse, it is excellent practice for my somewhat lackluster interviewing skills.
