At the Getaway

Right now I’m sitting in my hotel room, taking some time to relax before dinner at Gitta’s Getaway, a weekend of stitching hosted by my LNS.  I’m having a lovely time talking to other stitchers, and actually getting some stitching done during daylight hours (instead of trying to fight Baby Man off my lap so he doesn’t get stabbed by my needle.)

So far this weekend has been lovely.  The hotel is very nice and the food is delicious.  There have also been lots of prizes (although my non-winning streak still hasn’t really been broken; I did win one small prize, but mostly because I was lazy and quick 😉 ). I’ve also had some time do to a little bit of shopping, picking up some threads and such for the Châtelaine lotus temple design I will be starting very soon, and some lovely sugar cane fibre yarn.

The design for the class is beautiful, and I was able to get quite a bit done this morning.  Unfortunately, it will have to go on the back-burner for a little while as I try to get something else finished up.  (I’m also not sure I’m going to be able to find the right colour of fabric for finishing, since the project is in a colour I don’t normally gravitate too.)

All in all, I’m enjoying myself quite a lot.  But, I will admit that I miss my husband and Baby Man too.
