Catching Up on SALs

Although I have been keeping up with various SALs offline, I haven’t been doing a good job of posting about them online. The last time I posted a TUSAL check-in was back at the beginning of October. I’ve been saving my orts, but I just haven’t been taking the time to take pictures and post.

This is everything I’ve collected since the start of October. There are bits from my smalls, from the Creativ Festival, and from the little bit of Christmas stitching that I have managed to do.

And this is my jar for the year. It isn’t as full as some years, but I’m still happy with the amount of orts in it. I may feel like I haven’t been very productive, but this jar shows me otherwise.

The other SAL that I’ve managed to keep up with is Stitch from Stash. I have to admit that I’ve done a terrible job of keeping track of carry-over amounts, bonuses, etc. Essentially, I made sure I stayed within the $25 budget every month as best as I could (and I knew I had some carry-over since I spent $0 for a few months). In November there was another bonus, and since all I purchased was an $18 chart (the newest Passione Ricamo SAL), I know I’m good.

I’ll be taking part in both TUSAL and Stitch from Stash next year (and running my own nifty spreadsheet to keep track of my budget). I’m also running the Smalls SAL again, and I would love to have you take part.

So, tell me, what SALs are you taking part in in 2015? I’d love to know all about them, because maybe I will want to join in too. 😉

I’m doing Gifted Gorgeousness on Serendipitious Stitching and New Stitchy Start 2015.

Great collection of orts! I’m the same way; I’m lousy about posting when it comes to the SALs. I’m hoping to get better with it next year as I’m participating in several: your Smalls SAL, Turtle Trot from BAP attack, YOTA from Pull the Other Thread, TUSAL from It’s Daffycat (if she does it again), and the Super Duper Ultimate Crazy Challenge from Stitchin With My Furbabies. I’m also hosting my own CAL! I think I’ve lost my mind 🙂

Lovely orts Heather. Have you seen the group that I started? http://www.bengalcatlover10.blogspot.com/p/debbies-super-duper-ultimate-crazy.html
There is also a Facebook group.

  5. I’m doing your Smalls SAL — and so grateful for it, as it’s motivating me to keep little projects ‘in stock’ as it were, for my breaks and lunches at work. I’m much happier going through my day with a few 10 minute pauses for some stitches, but when I finish something it can take me far too long to remember to grab another kit…

Smalls only happen at work next year, tho, because I’m also doing a Glendon Place stitch along to try to stitch one of the A-MAZE-ing desserts patterns entirely in 2015. And I’m doing 2 SALS based over on Crossed Stitches — her Mystery Band Sampler and her HAP SAL. For that I’ll be starting my first ever HAED, so I’ll probably sign up for a new stitchy start maybe something on the HAED board for support. I’m a leeeetle daunted. >_>

The Passione Ricome mystery SAL continues into next year, and Randje per week is going to have a 2015 version. I’m stitching that and the 2014 set starting from opposite ends of a five yard piece of banding because the sheer ridiculousness of it makes me very happy. I might be doing a couple of other Facebook SALs, but between the first-of-year front loading with PR and the band sampler, and three large projects for the rest of the year (Tiramisu, Cheshire, and Widow Black’s B&B, which I’m doing as an informal SAL with a friend), the Smalls SAL keeping me going at work, and few other pieces I’d like to stitch…

Well. I think next year I’ll be eligible to join some of the SALs that focus on WIPs…

So far, Gifted Gorgeousness (if nothing else I have learnt to spell gorgeous!!); New Stitchy Start; WIPocalypse; Stitch from Stash; and YOTA. I am probably going to sign up for Smalls, but won’t be as frequent a contributor as I have been. IHSW and TUSAL round out my maybes (mostly as I haven’t heard if they will continue into 2015).

I forgot, I am also doing the DESIGN SAL. Sure sign I’m signed up for too many.
