My Swirlygig

Two days without Internet access. Who’d have thought it would be so hard. Of course, forgetting to print out the knitting pattern I’m working on wasn’t a smart idea, and led to much wailing and gnashing of teeth.  But in the end we survived, and were back online in just over two days.  This morning I did a quick read through of all the email and blog posts that piled up over the weekend, and now I can say that I am reasonably caught up.  (No comments left, sadly, because I was trying to read everyone’s blog.  I’ve only got so much time.  Everything looks lovely though, ladies.)

Over my short break, I finished up the Tesla scarf, which I will share tomorrow.  (It was much to rainy and grey here today to take pictures.  Actually, I completely forgot.)  I also finished the toy sack and tree on Baby Man’s stocking, and got started on the snow at Santa’s feet.  Now I’m thinking about casting on another pair of socks, because a woman just can’t have too many socks, right?

Anna over at Stitch Bitch has revealed the results of the results of the Swirlygig competition.  Sadly, I didn’t win.  However, the winning pieces are just fabulous, so I don’t feel bad at all.  Here is my entry:

I used two colours of Dinky Dyes silk, Fantasy Blues and Heath. I also used some white Mill Hill beads (who’s number I forget), and finished it as a pillow.  It isn’t the best picture, but I think it turned out lovely.

Later this week I will share my finished Central Park  Hoodie and a couple of other projects.  I hope you will stop by!

Well if I’d known what fibres were used in each project, I would have pegged yours in a heartbeat! 🙂

You did a great job with your swirlygig. It’s beautiful!

Thanks again for playing! I’m glad people got a chance to strut their stuff! And I’m glad you like yours. That’s the most important thing, isn’t it?
