Sugar Skull

Hello, Stitchy Friends! I’m so sorry that I have been so quiet lately. I’ve been focusing on a few other things, and sadly blogging has had to fall to the side. But, summer is around the corner, and with my little guy in all day summer camp for most of his vacation, I’m hoping I’ll have a lot more time for stitching and my blog. I feel so lonely when I don’t interact with all of you!

So, to celebrate the penultimate day of school I’m sharing my latest finish with you: Morado Sugar Skull from Mill Hill.

I love skulls. In fact, I’m wearing this shirt today. (Sadly, I am the weird parent that the other parents don’t really talk to…) And, so, I knew I had to stitch this one when I saw Mill Hill’s new series. I think she turned out very nicely. I especially like how two sizes of beads are used to give more dimension to the teeth.

SmallsSAL2016

Smalls SAL – Guess what! It is almost Smalls SAL check-in day. Are you ready? The check-in post will go live early in the morning (Eastern time) on Thursday, June 30th, and I can’t wait to see what you all have stitched.

Great finish. Love the tee too. I’m the weird parent at school who wears rock band teeshirts! It’s great to be different.

  2. Rachel says:

What a very frivolous little skull! Delightful.

  3. Catherine says:

    Heather: I love this scull.
The other parents need to get a life we all have sculls under skin.
I hope you get loads of stitching in.

    Blessings
    Catherine

    Terrific finish!

Funny, my mom always headed for the “weird” parents – said they were way more interesting, so I met some fascinating people as I grew up.

  5. Kim says:

    Cute finish…

That is a great skull! Love the tshirt too, and the fact that the model is normal sized! And they tell you how tall she is, so for midgets like me I can see how long it would be.

As for the weird parent bit – hubby gets called Pirate or Hairy Biker by the kids at my younger son’s school and I’m the “Hippy Parent”.

How long will your son be away for or is it just day times? Mine like being at home but we’ve still got another month to go!

It’s great to be different! I really like your t-shirt and your stitching – both so colourful.

  8. Katie says:

Your skull is beautiful. Congrats on the finish. Yeah I’m weird too haha.

  9. Heather says:

Lovely finish :). I’m sure I’d be that parent if I had kids too
