Smalls SAL 2015 – January Check-In

Welcome to the first check-in of 2015! I hope you had fun stitching your first small of the year.

Mandolin, designed by Mill Hill

Mandolin, designed by Mill Hill

I decided to start the year off with an ornament I’ve been waiting to stitch for ages! It is Mill Hill’s Mandolin from the Holiday Harmony series. I stitched the harp from this series years ago and always meant to get around to stitching this to go with it. Truthfully, I’d love to stitch the whole series, but I’m too cheap now to buy them all. 😉 Being more frugal certainly has its drawbacks.

2015SmallsSAL

I’d like to say thank you to all the stitchers who have helped make my life easier by signing up for my Tiny Letter reminder email. It will be much easier for me to send out email reminders this year. If you’d like to sign up for this short monthly email, you can do so here. And, if I can ask one more favour, I’d love it if you all would share this SAL on your blog by using the above image and/or linking this page or the sign up page in your January post.

Speaking of your January post, what did you stitch this month? Something Christmas-y while you are still in the mood, or maybe a Halloween design since they are so fun? I can’t wait to see. And that brings us to the other change for this year: a new way to share your link. Give it a try and let me know what you think. And please be sure to link you actual post, not the main URL for you blog. (You can get the post’s URL by going to your blog, clicking on the post’s title, and then copying the URL of the page that loads.) If you need more help adding your link please email me or check out this super handy tutorial.

This link list will stop accepting entries on February 5th, around midnight Eastern time. I’m still figuring out this new system, so please let me know if you run into any problems.

Next Month’s Check-In: The next check-in will take place on February 25th.

Your mandolin is gorgeous!!! You should definitely stitch all of them, because I would love to see them all done 🙂 I have been stitching Xmas ornaments, but I’m thinking of doing a little something for Valentines day now. Not sure yet. Maybe Easter…or maybe another xmas. LOL

Mine is posted (okay, so I cheated and scheduled it last week, but still)!! And I love this method of checking in – so much fun to see the little clickable thumbnails right on the page, without needing to scroll through all the comments.

Congratulations on your finish, Heather! It’s beautiful. Is that done on the perforated paper? I’ve wondered how that works. Love the new check in links; the pictures make it more fun.

  11. Pamela says:

Beautiful finished ornament! The new link up with photo is great. Thanks!

  12. Gwen says:

Your mandolin ornament is lovely. Maybe you can trade for the charts use beads and fiber from your stitch to stitch the others.

Love the link up process, to problems so far.

  13. Gwen says:

My previous comment should have said NO problems so far. Auto correct will often get it wrong.

  14. Linda says:

    Cute finish Heather.

  15. Susan says:

Love the ornament. I did an ornament this month, mostly because it was what was in the bag I grabbed rather than any real plan.

  16. Deb says:

Oh now, this is a great way to have a check in!
    Love your ornaments!

  17. Bonnie Brown says:

I’m so behind in my blog postings 🙁 I did 3 in Janaury, but still have to get the post up!

  18. I wasn’t able to post this month because your site wouldn’t load all of last night. Stupid internet. Next month I won’t wait until the last minute. 😛
