2013 SALs

Look: another finish!

The pattern is Lavender Wings’ Trimming the Tree. The fibres are DMC, and the fabric is Meadow from Enchanting Lair.

I almost got enough done this year to make me feel like I should take part in every Stitch Along I’ve come across. You know, I’m not sure if participating in SALs helps me get more done, but I sure do have more fun!

In 2013 I plan to take part in three Stitch Alongs. The first is my own Ornament SAL, where we stitch an ornament for any holiday once a month. Finish finishing them is optional. 😉

SAL number 2 is DaffyCat’s Totally Useless SAL. It is as easy as can be to take part: save your little bits of thread in a container and post a picture of it every new moon. Simple!

SAL number 3 is Measi’s WIPocalypse. The whole point of which is to work on all those works-in-progess (WIP) that each of us has stashed away somewhere. I did fairly well with it last year, and I’m looking forward to getting much more done in 2013.

There are several other SALs out there in blog-land. There is the International Hermit and Stitch Weekends, which is great for those of you who are able to take time on the weekend to just stitch and ignore the heck out of your family. 😉 I’m envious, believe me, but an almost-5-year old doesn’t understand mommy’s need to just stitch and not feed him, so I will be passing on that one again this year. And there is also Geeky Heather’s Theme-a-licious. Every month stitch along to the themes Heather has laid out. This year she is also offering ornament themes, which would complement my ornament SAL quite nicely. And who could forget the ever popular Crazy January? Spend the first 15 (or every) days in January starting new projects, and then finish them up during the year.

What SALs will you be taking part in?

Adorable finish! Looks like you really have the SAL bug! I’m much morw spur of the moment in project choices!

I’ll just be in your ornament SAL and in the WIPocalypse – it’s as much as I can handle 🙂 Nice finish, congrats.

Snap, snap and snap! I’m doing them all including IHSweekend because I interpret it to mean don’t go out socialising, stay in for the evenings and stitch. As I have 2 children I never go out anyway so it’s easy for me!
I don’t do the January Crazy Thing though. Too much stopping and starting for me, I’d get my threads in a muddle!
I’ve also signed up for the Turtle Trot because they’re choosing 13 projects to finish which fits in nicely with my “13 in ’13” personal challenge. BAP Attack is co-ordinating that one.

I’m doing your ornament SAL, TUSAL, Wipocalypse, Theme-a-licious, and IHSW when I can! I am also doing a few with a group on Facebook! I just hope I can actually get something accomplished! Lol

I’m participating in the same three groups as you are in the coming year. I’m really looking forward to your ornament SAL. I can’t promise that I’ll be posting every month but I’m going to try. I have several larger designs that I want to stitch this year which may stall my progress.
I love your little ornament you stitched. It’s just so sweet!

Trimming the Tree is really adorable! I’m a new follower. I signed up for your Ornament SAL. I’m also in the TUSAL and WIPocalypse and Ultimate Crazy January Challenge (31 starts). In 2012 I started something each day in January & February, so in 2013, I’m actually cutting back!

I’m also in the Turtle Trot SAL, where I picked 13 of my WIPs to work a little on each month. Most of these are left over from the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge is 2012.
