Needlework Done and a Giveaway

My Needle’s Work is all done!

My Needle's Work, designed by Lizzie*Kate

My Needle’s Work, designed by Little House Needleworks

Unfortunately, I ran out of Hickory Sticks, so I wasn’t able to stitch the border as per the chart. But, I like it find just the way it is.

My changes include: stitching the dress in Plum Paisley; using Secondhand Rose for the stripes in her underskirt instead of Wild Berries (both included in the kit), using Toasted Marshmallow for the other stripes in the underskirt, and using La Tierra for her hair. I also changed her eyes to Weeping Willow, since I am partial to green eyes. πŸ˜‰

Giveaway

This chart is only available as a kit with the floss, and I know some people decided not to purchase it because of that. So, I’ve decided to give away my gently used chart (I’ll be keeping the remainder of the Crescent Colours since there isn’t enough to stitch the design again anyway). I’ll throw in a couple of other surprises, too.

To enter, leave a comment below telling me what colour you would make her dress. That will get you one entry. If you also tell me what your favourite animal is, you will get two entries. And, if you post about the giveaway on your blog (and come back here and let me know), you will get another entry.

I’ll leave comments open until around 10pm Eastern on April 27th and reveal the winner on Monday, April 28th.Β  Good luck!

  1. Your stitching is wonderful, I really love it and the colors you used too. How wonderfula nd generous of you to have a give away too…I would maybe do her dress in a earthy kind of orange.. nothing bright.. just a nice blend to make sure it goes with the other colors without clashing. My favorite animal is a turtle.. they remind me of me! Slow and gentle! Just love them! Its on my blog!! http://myjourneystarting2013.blogspot.co.uk/
Smiles and oooh how exciting! πŸ™‚

  2. Tiki Stitches says:

Nice finish!! I think I would stitch her dress in some shade of teal because I like that color. I also like birds, though not necessarily chickens. πŸ™‚

  3. Susan says:

Very, very cute finish. Love the changes you made. Please don’t enter me into the drawing as I have way too much stash, but good luck to everyone.

  4. Laura says:

I would make her dress purple because yours turned out so well. My favorite animal is my dog Chase, a mutt of indeterminate origin.

  5. Gorgeous finish, my dear. Please count me in for your giveaway. I think that I might use one of my very favourite Cottage Garden Threads for her dress – a variegated thread called African Violet which is purple to a dark sage green. My favourite animal are cats.
Also, I have posted about your giveaway on my blog on this post http://kittenstitching.blogspot.com.au/2014/04/lest-we-forget-some-giveaways.html

Thanks for the chance to win this pattern,
    hugs, Kaye

  6. Justine says:

Ooh what fun! Well I would stitch her dress in whatever was charted as I am too much of a chicken to change anything when I stitch! I would be too worried that I would upset the balance of colours that the designer had chosen. Not very imaginative I know. My favourite animal would be a sloth, we go to see them at the zoo and they are so relaxing to watch, moving slowly and gracefully through the trees. I will post about your giveaway too.

  7. Bev C says:

    Hello,
I love your finish, making small changes to suit your colour choices is a great idea. I may use a pink tone thread as I am partial to pink.
My favourite animal is our cat Clyde.

    Happy days.
    Bev.

  8. Thoeria says:

I absolutely love your colour choices! It’s worked up pretty nicely I think πŸ™‚ I would definitely do her dress in a blue shade….Either a rich turquoise like the Gloriana silk “Jewel Turquoise”…..or the darker blue shades of the Chameleon Threads “Two Oceans”
Thanks for the opportunity! And my favourite domestic animal is most definitely without a doubt a cat…..and you guessed it….wild animal would be a lion πŸ™‚

  9. Musicwomanj says:

  10. Darlene says:

You did a great job on this. I think I might do her dress in blues but would check my over-dyed floss first before deciding.

  11. Kim McCool says:

Oooo – I would make her dress a pinky-mauve color. My favorite animal – dogs! I posted about your lovely give away on my blog: WisdomwithNeedleandThread.blogspot.com.

  12. Love your stitching and your choices of colors! Please enter me in your drawing for this chart, I would love to stitch it up for my self. I like the purple that you used and I am a big fan of chickens ( I raise them here on my farm)
    Happy Stitching

  13. Joanne P says:

I actually like the purple you used so I think I would use 3041 and 3042 blended and call her Teresa (as in Wentzler!). In the same vein I would want her to be holding a dragon stitching not a rooster.

If I am lucky enough to be chosen, please send the chart to Justine who entered on April 25, 2014 at 1:40 am
She chose me as the winner of her giveaway and sent me a lovely extra gift too so I would like to return the kindness πŸ™‚

  14. Kay says:

Actually I love her dress in this lavender shade. I usually stitch in my bedroom which is lavender and cream so it would go beautifully there. Thank you for a lovely giveaway. x

    My fav animal is cat.

  17. Lee says:

Love the design do count me in. her dress for me would be mulberry shade to match the curtains in my room. My favourite animal would have to be a cat named Tabitha who moved in with me after my husband died, a stray but must have been someone’s pet as she is housetrained and very loving.
P.s if I win I will make the chart available for others after I have stitched it.

  18. Rose Koslap says:

Oh I love the Plum color you used for her dress. It would match my bedroom! Oh and my favorite animal is a dog! Any dog although my 2 yorkie-chihuahua mixes are my favorites of the moment! Thank you for the wonderful give-a-way!

  19. Phyllis L says:

I would stitch her dress blue. My favorite animal is sheep.

  20. Sarah T says:

Very nice finish! I would stitch her dress in shades of pink (my favorite color). My favorite animals are dogs. Especially my mini Doxie. Miss P!

  21. Lija says:

The finish looks gorgeous! I have never stitched Lizzie Kate designs before, although have been checking out some online. I am just about to start stitching LHN for the first time … and that took about a year and a bit to sort as I had to order in from America (I live in the UK). So maybe in a year I would manage to choose and buy a Lizzie Kate to stitch.

If I won your chart I would make the dress purple too, although slightly more deeper. My favourite animal is a cat (very boring right?). Although I want to own an angora rabbit sometime in the future. At the moment I grow orchids, and somebody even suggested that I should get an actual pet. I love pandas too. We have some in the Edinburgh Zoo, up in Scotland.

I will try posting in my Stitch from Stash update but not sure if I make it in time. Need to go buy ingredients and bake a birthday cake for me. And then there is the finish I need to post by Wednesday. I still am unhappy with it and might frog the very last minute. Where does all the time go?

  22. Dani says:

    Congrats on the lovely finish!

  23. Frances says:

I love this cute little chart! I don’t know if I’m on time to enter, but we’ll see!!! I might stitch the dress in a “peachy” color. I LOVE cats–my favorite animal! Thank you for the opportunity!
    Frances

  24. Sheryl says:

What a lovely gift. I would make her dress a dark red. I also love dogs.
