Another one of my rare links to an outside site – The Onion | Osama Bin Laden Found Inside Each Of Us
Although this is obviously meant as a funny article, I can’t help but feel there is a grain of truth to it. So much effort, rightly or wrongly, has been spent to find Osama bin Laden. But what have we ignored lately? World governments have focused on the Middle East while potentially ignoring problems in their own country. Regular people have sat glued to the TV instead of spending time talking to their loved ones.
I don’t know what the answer is, since something must be done about terrorism. But, are we defining terrorism correctly? Are we remembering to take care of our own issues as well? Are we making the world a better place because of our actions, or are we doing things that will cause more problems in the long run? (Like diverting money for education into security.)
