A post that actually has some stitching in it! I know it has been a little while since I’ve shared pictures of what I’m working on, but I’ve been busy. And that means I have a lot to share.
On New Year’s Eve I plopped myself down on the sofa and worked hard to finish up two projects.
The first finish was this scarf for my husband. It was a Christmas gift, but it was late because I had to wait for more yarn to arrive in order to finish it. It is knit with Kraemer Yarns Tatamy Tweed Worsted in colour Y1210 Oatmeal, and the pattern is The Dudester Scarf by Jana Pihota. It is a lovely, dense, warm scarf, and it looks fabulous on the husband.
The second finish was By the Full Moon from Ink Circles, which I believe is from the JCS Halloween ornament issue. All I needed to do was fill in the moon, which was boring but quick. It is stitched with DMC on some 28 count hand-dyed from a sampler pack from Ayrloom. (You can find them on eBay.)
I started 2011 off pretty well, too.
These socks, which I knit for a lovely lady in Sudbury, were finished on the 3rd. The pattern is Twisting the Night Away by Heather Marsiglia, and the yarn is Panda Cotton in colourways Crystal Pink and Roses. They were really fun to knit, and I didn’t get bored with the second sock. 🙂
And yesterday I whipped up this hat for myself. The pattern is Temple Cats and is avaliable from Knit Picks for only $1.99. I used Lion Brand Cotton-Ease for the main colour, and some leftover Dye-Versions au Lait for the purple (that’s the milk fibre yarn I used for a small shawl/scarf a while back). It is a fabulous hat, and comes right down to cover my ears.
So, overall, not a bad end to 2010, and a pretty good beginning to 2011.
oh I love the cat hat too,
Well done! *Love* the cat hat. It is too cute!
Great finishes!
Yes, yes, the cat hat is awesome. But those socks! The inverted colours are so cool!
Love the finishes and those socks are really cool.
