The knitting and crochet worlds seem to be very split on the idea of knitted/crocheted dishcloths. Personally, I love them!
That’s my haul from a couple of days work at the end of August. I actually have a bunch in use right now, but a few were getting a little ragged and sad looking, so I figured it was time to replace them. The patterns are JustRight, A Practically Hyperbolic Dishcloth and Squaring the Spiral Dishcloth from Scrub Happy (five patterns, available from Ravelry for US$7.50), and the Hermosa Beach Dishcloth (a freebie from Lion Brand; free account required). The yarns are Peaches & Cream and Sugar’n Cream.
Some people might thing it is a waste of good knitting time to make dishcloths, but I love making a somewhat onerous chore more pleasant by using dishcloths handmade with love and attention.

Love your dishcloths and totally agree with your reason for making them. I knit a cotton tea towel once. It’s stained and doesn’t absorb the water very well, but it’s still my favourite tea towel. 🙂
I love making them as a change from larger projects! And yours are so happy looking!
I think they’re great! I also think they are good practice for newbies (not that you’re a newbie by any means!) or new stitches/techniques.
