Smalls SAL – April 2015 Check-In

Hello, Smalls Stitchers! It is the final Wednesday of April and time to share our smalls! We had a great turnout last month. If you haven’t had a look, you can check out last month’s post here.

2015SmallsSALThis month I decided to continue with the Christmas theme. The little kit I pulled out first was actually missing its perforated paper. I don’t remember stitching it, nor do I remember where I got the kit, so I was more than a little confused. It’s a good thing that I have a stash with, oh, just a few things I can stitch. 😉

Reindeer – Christmas design from Gitta’s in 2011

This is a little freebie design that I got from my LNS’ Christmas open house back in 2011. It was a complete kit, including a full skein of Anchor floss. Longtime readers may remember that I’m not a fan of Anchor, but this time I was pleasantly surprised. It stitched very smoothly, contrary to my past experiences. The metallic is PTB, which is always nice to stitch with, and the fabric is a 20 count Lugana with gold flecks. I stitched it with two stands over one thread for nice, dark coverage.

What did you stitch this month? Fill in the form below and share your small with all of us! And, please, take some time to visit other participants to see their smalls and leave comments. We all love comments! 😉 The link list will stay open until about midnight Eastern time on May 6th.

Next Check-In: The next check-in will take place on May 27th. If you’d like to receive a reminder email, click here. Since we are worldwide, please be patient. The link list usually opens up early in the morning my time (Eastern time zone, GMT -4) on check-in day.

That’s a lovely reindeer! I’ve never found a metallic thread that I like to stitch with, I endure metal thread stitching rather than enjoy it!

  5. Hazel says:

I love your Reindeer. Although I usually use DMC I prefer Anchor black.

  6. Joanne P says:

Cute reindeer, I like it stitched over one. It reminds me that I have the collection of Daffycat’s reindeer, they would look good like that too.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. Lynn Jones says:

Love your adorable reindeer! Just a note though to let you know that your title reads April 2014 rather than 2015. It doesn’t take much to confuse me, lol!

  8. A very sweet Christmas deer, my dear.

  9. Love the reindeer pattern and the others everyone is stitching!
