I’m back on the knitting wagon after having nothing but bad luck for nearly the past week. (The failed Lily of the Valley Stole and two or three attempts at getting the right gauge with some Cascade Fixation socks kinda put me off knitting for a few days.) So, yesterday afternoon I whipped up a guage swatch for my Lotus Blossom Shawl and got guage the first time! Wow! Here’s what it looks like unblocked.
The yarn is Blue Heron’s Egyptian Mercerized Cotton in colourway Violet Fields, a lovely 100% lace weight cotton that is knitting up wonderfully. It isn’t going to block too well, but that’s okay. Here’s my Ravely project page. (You need to be a member of Ravely to view my project pages.)
I also started the Soft Drawstring Pouch from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. I’m using Berroco Pure Pima in colourway 2254 Sachet. It is a quick, if somewhat boring knit. My plan, now that I am past the eyelet row, is just to keep going until I run out of yarn. I’d like to line it with some silk dupioni and use it as a bag to hold whatever sock project I’m working on. Here’s the project page for this bag.
Yesterday was TW Wednesday, so I did manage to find some time to work on Delightful Dragon. I’m finished all the cross stitches for the front section and am now working on the backstitching. I do still need to add the blending filament to a couple of the colours, but I think it looks great! It just makes me smile.
Lastly, a bonus picture of Baby Man wearing the sweater I knit for him at the end of last year. (My Ravely project page for French Stripes.) Isn’t he a cutie? I will definitely be knitting this again in a larger size when he grows out of it. Hopefully I will have a picture of him in his jacket in the next couple of days.
