A Dragon’s Castle

I’ve had the Creativ Festival on my mind recently because it is time for the class brochure to come out, and so I figured maybe it was time to finish up a few old class projects. Earlier this week I finally added the beads to, and cut out, Perforated Paper Castle by Jennifer Aikman-Smith of Dragon Dreams (a fall 2011 class).

Inside is a wee dragon made by Jennifer.

The class even managed to talk her into signing all the bums. Jennifer is a really fun lady, and it was hilarious to see her walking around the room signing all the tiny bums.

Now completely unrelated, but equally as cool: did you know that Teresa Wentzler will be releasing a new design? A series of Christmas ornaments will be released through PatternsOnline in August. How exciting is that?

  1. The dragons are cute, aren’t they. And Jenn was a hoot signing all of the dragon butts. I got a picture, did you see it?

  2. I had heard about this project but hadn’t actually seen it completed. Cute! And yes, I can completely imagine Jennifer’s glee at signing tiny dragon bums!! LOL

How weird, your blog disappeared from my Reader! I only found you again via a post on The Daily Mel.
I love your finished castle and am also excited about the TW ornies.
Thank you for reviewing the JCS ornie special too. I want to order that one especially after seeing the Ink Circles design but they’re charging nearly as much for P&P to the UK as for the mag! I’ll see if I can get it here.

Cute dragon. I like the paper castle. Interesting idea to make a house with that paper. I think something’s percolating…
