Into the Inferno

Usually I don’t post the results of silly little quizes like this, but I rather liked this one. Hmmm… an eternity in Limbo… I don’t know. It would give me a lot of time to think. 🙂

The Dante’s Inferno Test has sent you to the First Level of Hell – Limbo!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

Level Score
Purgatory (Repenting Believers) Low
Level 1 – Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers) High
Level 2 (Lustful) Moderate
Level 3 (Gluttonous) Moderate
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) Moderate
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) Low
Level 6 – The City of Dis (Heretics) Very Low
Level 7 (Violent) Moderate
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers) Low
Level 9 – Cocytus (Treacherous) Very Low

Take the Dante’s Inferno Hell Test

More Writing

My NaNoWriMo isn’t going quite as well as I had hoped. I’m only at 3,889 words. Since I was aiming for 2,000 words a day, I am just a wee bit behind. I’m also writing complete drivel, in my opinion. Half of me thinks that is okay, since I am actually writing. A feat in itself. But the other half of me wishes I was producing something that was… well, not crap. 🙂

I will admit to being inspired though. Well, maybe not inspired by the story I’m writing. (Actually, I like my idea for a plot, it just needed to be fleshed out more before I started working on it.) I’m eager to start work on something more scholarly. As I mentioned a little while ago, I’d like to write a book on ethics and virtues, from the Wiccan point of view. Since I will likely use this as my Third Circle project for CFFN, I can’t really get started on it right away. This is because the project for Third Circle must take at least one year to complete, and any work done before the project is approved does not count. Quite honestly, when I do get started, I am sure that it will take me longer then a year to complete my project, but I like to play by the rules. I’m just that kind of person. But I’m itching to get started.

My next lesson for the Second Circle is Lesson Six. It actually deals with ethics, so I’m pretty excited about it. The earliest I can post it is November 9th, since Second Circle lessons can only be posted once every two weeks. I’m making good progress on the lessons though, since I have a good deal of free time with which to think about them.

Friday Five

I’m so happy that Friday Five is back this week!

1. What was your first Halloween costume?
I really can’t remember what my first Halloween costume was. I think that either my mom or my grandmother made me something, but I’m not totally sure. Some of the first one’s I remember are a ghost and a witch. I think I was usually something fairly traditional. One year I remember being a headless person (I caught a cold the next day, weird), and I was a black cat once too.

2. What was your best costume and why?
That’s pretty difficult. I guess one of my many witch costumes. I’m not really sure. Also, I had a great Magenta costume, which I wore to The Rocky Horror Show when it came to town. It was great, but it wasn’t for Halloween.

3. Did you ever play a trick on someone who didn’t give you a treat?
No, it never happened.

4. Do you have any Halloween traditions? (ie: Family pumpkin carving, special dinner before trick or treating, etc.)
We really haven’t had any special traditions for many years. Although, until I left home, we used to put certain decorations up ever year.

5. Share your favorite scary story…real or legend!
I really like scary stories. By that I mean scary creepy not scary horror. Buckets of blood and mass murderers do nothing for me. Since I am awful at retelling stories, I’m list a few of my favourite without going into too much detail. The storyline of the PS2 game Fatal Frame is very spooky, and I really like it. I also like the disappearing passenger or disappear carriage type stories as well as haunted house stories.

Samhain

I’m feeling a little better today, even if I didn’t sleep well last night. Why can’t life be fair?

Anyway, I thought I would give Witches Weekly a try today.

Samhain

Do you celebrate Samhain? If not, why?
I do, but I don’t preform any big rituals. I’m not a ritual kind of girl. This year I hope to go on a bit of a walk just after dark, and hopefully see a few little trick-or-treaters walking around. (We live in an apartment building, so we don’t get any kids.) After that, I will cook a dinner appropriate for the time of year. Before bed, I will take some quite time to remember those who have passed over, and then I will do a Tarot reading for the coming year.

What’s your favorite aspect of Samhain?
My favourite aspect is that it marks the beginning of a more introspective time of year.

What ancestor do you plan to honor this Samhain season, and why?
Thankfully, none of my family or friends passed over this year. I will remember those loved ones who passed away before, though, even if they have already moved on. Also, I will take a few moments to remember people everywhere who have died because of war or other violence. Yeah, that sounds all lovely and newage (rhymes with sewage), but I think such deaths are horrible. I will not name any victims specifically, because I do not want to intrude on private grief.

Taking a Break

A few unhappy things have happened lately. I’ll be taking a couple of days break from writting. I’m sure I’ll be back, better then ever, soon.

Another Year

It looks like we won’t be getting married on September 25, 2004. The company my father works for is shutting down their Canadian operations on December 31st of this year. That means money will be tight for my parents until he can get another job. He is optimistic but realistic. Not to many companies want to hire a 59 year-old man, no matter how good a worker he is. And since my parents want to help out as much as possible, the wedding is being put on hold. I don’t know. I can’t help but feel like things aren’t going at all like I had hoped. quanta’s parents have even offered their congratulations yet. Maybe getting married is a bad idea. But I love quanta so much.

I’m very sad. Sad for my parents, and sad for me. Everything always works out in the end though, right? And my dress will be in soon, so I suppose we could always get married anywhere. The heck with the reception and all that.

I sound horribly selfish, but I know my parents will be okay.
